Child Maltreatment Symposium 2018

Visitor parking available off Catalina (south of building) or off Earll Drive (nother of building). Parking tickets will be stamp validated inside.
Entrance into the building will be accessible from the first floor of the garage walking west through the plaza toward the building entrance. The Security desk will be straight ahead.

Presented by experts in the area of child maltreatment. This symposium aims to help community agencies and medical professionals expand their knowledge regarding child maltreatment, abuse & neglect.

Target Audience
Community agencies (Fire/PD/DPS/EMS), healthcare professionals, Social Workers & anyone who cares for injured, neglected & abused children.

Symposium Topics Include:
•Overview of the criminal justice investigative process and identify thevarious partners of the multidisciplinary team
•The role of forensic anthropology in child death investigations
•Identification and management of child abuse
•Recognize the theoretical and research background of AdverseChildhood Experiences (ACE)
•The joint investigation roles in child abuse
•Trauma Paradigm from an EMDR perspective
•Importance of mandated reporting in child abuse & neglect
