5th Annual Child Maltreatment Symposium
We invite you to attend the 2019 Child Maltreatment Symposium. Presented by experts in the area of child maltreatment and sponsored by Phoenix Children’s Hospital, this symposium aims to help community and medical professionals expand their knowledge regarding child maltreatment, abuse and neglect.
Community agencies (EMS/Fire/PD), Child Welfare Professionals (OCWI, DCS, Social Workers), Legal Professionals, Healthcare Professionals, and anyone who works with or cares for injured, neglected & abused children.

• Overview of the criminal justice investigative process and the joint investigation roles in child abuse
• Gain insight on process between hospitals, Donor Network of Arizona and Office of Medical Examiner
• Perspectives on the importance of team approach to family care during a donation case
• The role of forensic anthropology in child death investigations
• Identification, assesment & treatment of Child Neglect
• Psychological Impact of Abuse
Continuing Medical Education (CME), Continuing Legal Education (CLE), Emergency Medical Services (EMS)
Continuing Education in the form of credits, contact hours and clock hours will be offered to health care providers and other professionals. Following the Symposium, attendees are required to complete the online survey; link and instructions will be emailed. Certificates will be emailed after the completion of the online evaluation.
