1st Annual Conference on Aerodigestive & Pediatric Feeding Disorders

Participants will be able to, as a result of this course learning:

Apply knowledge of airway or gastrointestinal problems to make evidenced based decisions for infants and children with oropharyngeal dysphagia
Perform global nutritional assessment and identify nutritional barriers and needs for successful oral feeding in children
Understand and utilize clinical and instrumental measures for dysphagia in young children presenting with feeding disturbances or aerodigestive symptoms.
Describe primary factors necessary as foundation to advance oral feeding in medically challenged infants, with parents actively involved
Understand complexities of the psychosocial domain including the family’s perspective, in children with pediatric feeding disorders
Demonstrate processes for referral to programs at Phoenix Children’s Hospital and criteria for admittance
Familiarize with outcomes of PCH Feeding Disorders Multidisciplinary Program
Understand and use a pathway for referrals of infants and children with feeding difficulties with/without dysphagia
